“I specialize in collaborative ethnographic research and writing, media production, and cultural programming. I call Alabama home and have lived and worked around the world. I'm passionate about folklife practices, research, and programming as means to build community and promote intercultural understanding. My interests include deathways, language and dialect, personal narrative, non-performative musical traditions, and vernacular religion. Geographically, I focus on southern Appalachia and the southeast U.S., including North Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia, and Alabama.”
